SARAS -- Society for the Alignment of Religion and Science -- Scientifically aligned religious philosophy for modernity. Science understands that symmetry is the underlying theme that pervades the structure and behavior of physical reality. Religious philosophy for modern times must fundamentally account for this observed reality.

Why-is-REP-necessary?

Reflexive Emanation Panendeism is intense and unambiguous religious philosophy; however, it is also politically secular because no person or groups of people can align with it to the exclusion of others. Why? Because it is essentially an extrapolation of natural law. No organization has tried to exert political or social policy control based on their alignment with pantheism (e.g., Einstein's scientific pandeism). And, neither can they leverage panendeism for the same. Politicized religion probably requires an anthropomorphic God that thinks, hosts emotions and must be worshiped and obeyed, which is the origin of its exclusionary divisiveness.

Reflexive Emanation Panendeism is for individuals that are trying to understand the structure of reality and whether the activity of reality is purposed, yet are unwilling or unable to believe or assimilate mythical stories into their worldview. As modernity becomes ever more enmeshed with scientific and technological understanding, either science-aligned religious philosophy or outright atheism will come to dominate people's worldviews.

Reflexive Emanation Panendeism (REP) is the opposite of atheism, yet it is similar. There is very little (or nothing) an atheist can adhere to, to argue against its tenets. REP adherents and atheists will see the same and predict the same physical phenomena. REP disavows the reality of souls, reincarnation, Heaven and Hell, miracles, revelation, the efficacy of prayer (except as a self-modifying psychological activity), individuated nirvana, an anthropomorphic thinking God, etc.  REP asserts that the mathematical fabric of physical reality has an embedded aim that every worldview should comprehend, but trying to captures nature's architecture by reductionist descent, while interesting, is not the aim and it is likely doomed to failure (because nature is probably infinitely complex and not amenable to perfect modeling). Nature requires evolutionary finalized consciousness to attain this aim, which requires evolution of life-forms to host brains that raise end-stage consciousness into actuality. Nature also requires that final state consciousness understand its purpose, which is nature's purpose.  REP explains to those possessing advanced consciousness, what nature's purpose is and how that purpose is reflected in the structure of reality.

When God is imagined to be a thinking emotional deity possessing omnipotence and the determination to send human being's souls to Heaven or Hell after their death, it is impossible to not believe that one's thinking and actions must align with God's 'attitudes'. The trouble is no one can agree what those attitudes are. The Islamic State's Islamic beliefs are certainly different from Judaism's or evangelical Christianity's. These 'differences' are the seeds of vicious conflict. Even worse, many people, possibly the majority in the US congress, have such antiquated views on the nature of God that they are vociferous opponents of taking action against climate change or funding population control.

Modernity requires a science and observation aligned religious philosophy that abandons the illogical and unobserved tenets that suppose the reality of a thinking emotional personal God. Because theism leads to exclusionary divisiveness and because it leads to the denial of observed natural truths it must be replaced.

There are many possible views and models of the nature of reality, especially metaphysical reality. If two views are very different, how can they be evaluated for 'proximity to the truth -i.e., the way things actually are'? Apparently, the best arbiter of ideas is the architecture of nature including the structure of consciousness; metaphysical concepts or religious philisophical frameworks that conflict with nature's truth must be suspect. In addition, a fully developed and truth reflecting philisophical/metaphsical framework must be able to offer reasonable answers to the following questions:
Why is all structure constrained to accord with the symmetry of existential neutrality?
Why is all energy flow constrained by the principles of local gauge invariance (i.e., symmetry)?
Why does life arise from the molecular realm and evolve until it hosts advanced consciousness?
Why does life and consciousness arise at all? Are they integral for the attainment of a natural purpose?
Why does consciousness possess sexual polarities that attract one another?
Why must all lifeforms age and die?
Why does the universe apparently have a lifespan?
Why is there a direction to time?
Why does a negative realm, punctuated by chaos, which resists the organizing evolution of life and consciousness exist?
These kinds of questions are many. Any viable religious philosophy or metaphysics must be able to answer these questions. Some of the eastern religions assert these phenomena are illusions (e.g., Advaita Vedanta). Revealed religion has few answers. But, natural reality cannot be ignored regardless of how convinced one's view is of being correct. If a model does not accord with the fundamental themes of observable reality or cannot explain why they are observed, the model/philosophical-metaphysical-stance is either wrong or significantly incomplete.

SARAS holds that humanity is best served by a migration away from the tenets of theism towards a science-aligned meta-religion -- one underpinned by a modern next-generation religious philosophy that resides on top of scientific understanding (e.g., Reflexive Emanation Panendeism). Why? Aside from misalignment with observation (e.g., scientific knowledge), theism harbors a dangerous instability. If the God is believed to be a sentient being that possesses human-like thoughts, emotions, and desires (e.g., to be worshiped and believed in, in the proper way) it is natural to try and align ones thinking and behavior -- one's worldview -- towards satisfying God's requirements and needs. But, if different societies and associated specific religions settle into their own 'correct' worldviews that align with God's mandates, what happens when they look across their worldview borders and see incompatible beliefs (e.g., the belief that Jesus is the only route to salvation or that Mohammad is the final prophet transcribing the ultimate mandates of God to humanity). In several words: discord and worse. It is evident from the news that many go so far as believing that God 'Himself' has beliefs that must be defended and that doing so will secure a defender a spot in heaven.
If God is understood to be fully integrated with natural reality and its 'thoughts' are understood to be the mathematical fabric of a supra-intelligent design possessing an embedded aim, no one can exclusively align with God's mandates, because an insentient God's mandates are effectively the laws of nature. Variants of meta-religion will ultimately converge about the natural truth and human beings can focus on securing their environmental stability while pursuing their (ecstatic) role in fulfilling nature's ultimate existential aim.

The most advanced religious philosophy that exists today is Reflexive Emanation Panendeism (REP) and therefore it is the best replacement for theism. Everyone that is concerned with the cognitive evolution of humanity on the earth should understand the tenets of REP.
